Goal

We enhance the professional talents (Chinese teachers, interpreters and specialized commercial personnel) with good Chinese understanding and expression. They can master Chinese knowledge and skills completely, understand the condition and culture of China and use the Chinese language to work freely in certain fields.

Description

This program is set for those whose native language is not Chinese.

Graduation certificates will be issued when students have fulfilled the stipulated curriculum, acquired enough credits, completed the thesis and passed HSK Band 8. Students who satisfy the relevant requirements will be conferred upon the B.A. degree.

Curriculum

Courses for the first two years：Elementary and intermediate comprehensive Chinese, Listening and speaking, Extensive reading, Chinese writing, Newspaper reading, Chinese Character, An Introduction to China, Chinese Culture, etc.

• Courses for the third and fourth years：

Chinese Education ： Advanced Chinese, Applied writing, Chinese Newspaper Reading, Modern Chinese, Chinese Literature, Educational psychology, Basic Chinese Language, Teaching Methodology of Chinese and other courses.
Business Chinese：Comprehensive Business Chinese, Conversational Business Chinese, Business Chinese Composition, Business Chinese Reading, International Trade theory and practice, E-commerce, Business Negotiation, China Foreign Trade and other courses

Features

Business Chinese：company visit, Lectures by Entrepreneur, work placement, etc。

Chinese Education：Internship, Cloning teaching, etc。

 Documents for Application

1.  Application form
2.  Senior high school graduation certificate. Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Current graduates of senior high school who have not yet obtained graduation certificate when applying for the Program are required to present an formal letter from their school indicating the designated date of graduation.
3.  HSK certificate

4. A copy of passport (the page of photograph).

Transfer Requirements

Those who receive education in Chinese Language or relevant programs in colleges or universities recognized by SCNU both in and outside China and fulfill the entrance requirements for undergraduate programs of the college can apply.

1.Transfer Methods

A. Applicants with HSK certificate level 3 (New HSK level 4) or above or passing the entrance level test of the College can apply to transfer to sophomore status according to the results of the tests or actual situations.

B. Applicants with HSK certificate level 6 (New HSK level 5) or above or passing the entrance level test of the College can apply to transfer to Junior status according to the results of the tests or actual situations.

2. Application Documents

Besides documents required for application for full-time undergraduate education, applicants for transfer should submit the following documents:

A. The original transcripts and education certificate of the college or university and the copies.

B.  Applicants with HSK Certificate should submit the copy of the HSK Certificates. The original certificates will be validated upon registration.

C. Applicants with junior college or undergraduate diploma should submit the copies of diploma and transcripts, and the original ones will be validated upon registration.

★ Note: Those who have studied the Chinese language for at least one semester at college in their own country or in a university in China other than South China Normal University are eligible to apply for placement to an appropriate class. Students of this category are required to present the relevant academic documents, including transcripts and HSK certificates of Band 4 or above.
